Has anyone been to T-Rex? Is it worth paying out of pocket for the experience and/or food (on the dining plan for everything else). Have DD8.

Hi, Stacey!  I will tell you very honestly that my daughters have all enjoyed dining at T-Rex.  Even the almost 18 year old loved the atmosphere.  The eight and four year olds love everything about it.

Having said that, I've had two less than wonderful experiences there.  Our last visit was a two hour long ordeal, where we waited upwards of 20 minutes before even getting a glass of water refilled.  Service was very slow, and that was with plenty of empty tables.  If you are going, prepare to spend some time there, especially if you are going at a busy time.

The food there is good, not great.  If you have ever eaten at the Rainforest Cafe, the food here is similar, large portions, tasty and filling, but definitely not a gourmet dining experience.  I have enjoyed the flatbread pizza, and my husband had a pasta dish on our recent visit that he thoroughly enjoyed.

The whole draw for us here is the atmosphere.  It is very cool to be surrounded by dinosaurs, be in the midst of a meteor shower, and see all of the animatronics.  If you go with an open mind, hoping to just soak up some prehistoric vibes, then you won't be disappointed.
