Hi Lindsay,
Thanks for submitting your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I've stayed in both
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. They are both incredible resorts for many different reasons; your preference will depend on what you are looking for in a resort.
The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is a magical place with views of Bay Lake and the Magic Kingdom. You can venture outside your building to the beach in the evening and see Wishes nighttime spectacular from this resort as well as the Electrical Water Pageant on Bay Lake. Monorail service directly to the Magic Kingdom with transfer service to Epcot (via the Transportation and Ticket Center) are incredibly convenient. The resort itself is spectacular with several pools and a new water play area for children, not to mention live music each day (provided by the amazing
Grand Floridian Society Orchestra). With Senses-A Disney Spa onsite to provide you with relaxation and pampering, it's a destination unto itself.
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are a wonderful little home away from home, complete with kitchen area should you want to make your own meals during your visit. The resort is very expansive with cabins nestled in the peaceful Florida wilderness; Guests have the option of renting golf carts to make getting around faster and easier. Pioneer Hall is the place to be as it hosts a wonderful dinner show, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review; recreation includes horseback riding, archery and canoeing.
Lindsay, I hope I've made your choice easier-good luck!
Best Wishes,
Amy B.
