Howdy, Jacob, and welcome to planDisney, where we always have marshmallows at the ready for roasting! I love camping, and
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are one of my favorite spots to hang my hat when I visit
Walt Disney World Resort. My family enjoys coming home to this peaceful setting after a rip-roaring day at the theme parks. Your campout is just around the bend, so let's see what you can set up at your cabin.
Guests staying at the campground and cabins often enjoy decorating their spaces. Halloween and other holidays are especially festive and fun. Because of this tradition, specific rules and guidelines are in place for the safety and consideration of all guests. After reviewing the
Decorating Your Cabin information, I fear a canopy or patio umbrella will be prohibited since it could be "entered or walked over/under." To double-check, I chatted with a friendly Cast Member who said portable shades are only allowed in the campground, so she discouraged bringing one to a cabin.
I know that's not what you were hoping to hear, Jacob, but the good news is that many cabins have nearby trees that provide shade. The picnic table on the deck is an ideal place to sip your coffee in the morning before it gets too hot, and kids of all ages can cool off in the
Wilderness Swimmin' Pool. And when the sun goes down, my family looks forward to heading to the beach to see the whimsical, twinkling wonder of the
Electrical Water Pageant.
I hope your posse has a rootin' tootin' good time on your upcoming visit, Jacob. Please
stop by planDisney anytime. Yee-haw!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
