Hi, Laura! Thanks for writing in to planDisney. We're glad you're a fan of the Panel!
It sounds like you're ready to float into summer with your upcoming stay at
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. One of the best reasons to stay here is the location; it's only a few minutes walk to the Downtown Disney District where you can catch the
Monorail and ride it straight into Tomorrowland inside Disneyland Park. However, another favorite amenity is the Rooftop Swimming Pool which has legions of fans due to the "California Streamin'" water slide. I know Cast Members had initially told some of our panelists that the scheduled maintenance of the pool would be complete by May 7. However, when I called today, I received the same answer as you, and there is no officially announced reopening date.
While I know this may be a disappointing and deterring factor for you, they did mention that the hotel will shuttle guests over to the retro-themed
Disneyland Hotel pools, which have the fantastic Monorail waterslides and the Disneyland marquee that lights up at night! If you want a more relaxing aquatic experience, lounge the day away in the bubbling Mickey or Minnie Spa whirlpool spas, or consider booking a
private cabana. I also recommend ordering food from
Tangaroa Terrace and enjoying it poolside on a chaise lounge chair; the Tempura Shrimp are pretty tasty!
As Sebastian says, "We Got No Troubles. Life Is The Bubbles, Under The Sea." I hope everything works out and that your trip goes swimmingly, Laura. Please write back if you have any more questions.
