Welcome aboard, Susan! My family and I use
Disney Cruise Line's ground transfers every time we sail. We love that Disney takes care of all of the details, allowing us to simply show up, relax, and enjoy an entertaining and pleasant ride to and from the port.
Disney Cruise Line offers ground transfers in all of its home ports. In Orlando, they offer transfers from the Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral and back, as well as between the Resorts at Walt Disney World and Port Canaveral. Currently, the cost is $35 per person each way for these transfers. But I promise that it is simply the best way to transition from land to sea and back again. The night before you set sail, you'll receive a notice in your Disney resort room letting you know what time your transfers will meet you at the resort and what time they'll pick up your checked luggage. Usually, our checked luggage needed to be ready by 8:00 a.m., and could be left, tagged with the DCL tags, in our resort room for pick up. We then kept our day bags with us to enjoy the resort for the rest of the morning before our pick up time. Normally, the motorcoach pick up times are between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., but it varies based on how many guests are using resort transfers each sailing, so you'll find out your exact time the night before. The ride to the port is about an hour from the resorts at Walt Disney World, so they keep guests entertained with classic Disney cartoons and Disney Cruise Line videos onboard the motorcoach on the way. This is great for making the time pass quickly, and before you know it, you'll be arriving at your ship!
There is not an easier way to head to the port from the resorts, Susan! I hope you take advantage of booking the ground transfers with Disney for your upcoming
Disney cruise! Have a wonderful trip!
