Does anyone know from experience if the Mickey Waffles have egg in the batter? I tried contacting special.diets@disneyworld.com but they said they couldn’t answer my question. I’m just trying to figure out if my son can eat one or not.

    Hello Ashley,

As a mom to kids who have food allergies, I understand the importance of knowing exactly what is in the food that we offer to our kiddos. Walt Disney World Resort is renowned for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences, and this dedication extends to guests with food allergies and Special Dietary Requests. Understanding the importance of catering to diverse dietary needs, Disney World has implemented comprehensive protocols to accommodate guests with food allergies, ensuring their safety and enjoyment throughout their visit.

One of the standout features of Disney World's approach to food allergies is its provision for guests to speak directly with a chef at each dining location. This personalized service enables guests to inquire about ingredients, preparation methods, and possible allergens present in the dishes. By having direct access to a chef, guests can receive detailed information and discuss any special accommodations that may be necessary to tailor a meal to their specific dietary requirements. Just seek out a Cast Member and they will have a Chef come out to meet you at your table if you are choosing a Table-Service location, or even at any Quick-Service locations.

This direct communication with chefs empowers guests with food allergies to make informed decisions about their dining choices. Whether they have a gluten intolerance, nut allergy, dairy sensitivity, or any other dietary restriction, guests can feel confident in discussing their needs and preferences with the culinary team.

Furthermore, Disney World chefs are well-trained in allergen management and cross-contamination prevention. They understand the seriousness of food allergies and take appropriate measures to minimize the risk of accidental exposure. This may involve modifying recipes, using separate cooking equipment, or taking other precautions to ensure the safety of guests with food allergies.

I’d like to direct you to the Walt Disney World Resort website, the Dining section, or the My Disney Experience Mobile app. You can search all dining locations and find each location's menu. Once you pull up a menu, keep scrolling until you get to the Allergy-Friendly sections. You will see under each of the Allergy-Friendly sections a list of foods that can be made to accommodate that specific allergy. So in doing a quick search, if you head over to the Everything Pop Shopping & Dining Breakfast Menu, I see that they have a Kids’ Allergy-Friendly Waffles – Egg Allergy Friendly option! If you don’t see an allergy menu on the website, you will be able to request an Allergen Guide upon arrival at the location.

Lastly, even if you view the menu and don't see that there is an allergy-friendly option listed for your little one, I still recommend asking to speak to the Chef. They have always been so incredibly helpful and kind to our family.

I hope you and your family have the best experience!
