Hi there Jennifer, it's so great to see your questions here at planDisney!
If you're anything like me, you know the value of starting off your day with a great breakfast and those special
whimsically-shaped waffles really hit the spot whether or not you're staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel!
I recently helped plan a trip down for my nephew who has specific dietary needs including a gluten allergy and compiled a few strategies for his parents to employ when choosing
dining locations around Walt Disney World Resort that would have allergy-friendly choices as well as closer proximity to the Theme Parks. As you can imagine, a number of these are Character Dining experiences or Buffet-style, so I've omitted them from the following restaurant recommendations:
- At the top of my list is Trattoria Al Forno, for the wide variety of breakfast options including Allergy-Friendly Mickey-Shaped Waffles that can currently be purchased as a Kids' Entrée or as a side. Being situated right on Disney's BoardWalk, its prime location provides easy access to boat transportation to Disney's Hollywood Studios and is just a few minutes away from EPCOT via International Gateway.
- For easy access from parking at the Ticket and Transportation Center and monorail access to both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has breakfast options apart from the ever-popular 'Ohana; you can find Allergy-friendly waffles at Kona Café as well as Capt. Cook's. (The former requires a dining reservation, while the latter benefits from being a Quick-Service location that may have the option to Mobile Order your meals in advance!)
- Finally, I would recommend Grand Floridian Cafe for the ability to enjoy waffles along with Allergy-friendly menu options in a beautiful setting. Some of the closest Allergy-friendly waffles within walking distance to a Theme Park can be found at Gasparilla Island Grill, which may be the fastest way to grab breakfast before taking on a waterside stroll on the pathway leading directly to Magic Kingdom Park!
Some other standout options include the
Beach Club Marketplace and
Landscape of Flavors at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, which may satisfy your waffle fix with easy access to the Disney Skyliner. For more of my Princely Picks, Tips and Tricks, be sure to come back to planDisney to

Wishing you wonderful waffle-filled wanderings on your upcoming visit!
