Welcome back to planDisney, Stuart! Your magical holiday has begun, and I hope you're off to a fabulous start at
Walt Disney World Resort. I've been visiting the theme parks for decades, and
EPCOT has risen to the top and become my favorite, so let's look at some experiences you might find when you visit.
EPCOT has been
transforming over the past few years, and since those caricature carts are mobile, they've become a moving target. Your best bet is to stop by
Guest Relations near the park entrance when you arrive because they'll have the latest information about where a cart might be set up. On my most recent visit, I saw at least one in the World Showcase near the France Pavilion.
If you're at
Magic Kingdom Park, I saw an artist doing fun caricatures at Liberty Square, and there's a somewhat permanent location set up at Disney Springs near
The Art Corner. At
Disney's Hollywood Studios, look for one on Sunset Boulevard; at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, I saw a cart outside the Island Outfitters shop. Remember that most of these carts can change locations as needed, so I recommend checking with Guest Relations.
It's been many years since I had a caricature done, and that was at Disneyland Park in California! But my panelist pals told me guests no longer have to sit for their portraits. Many artists will snap a photo and work from that so you can head out to enjoy your day. I think that's a fabulous option so you don't miss a moment of pixie dust. I'd also like to mention that this experience is first-come, so you can't make a reservation, but I'm waving my magic wand that you'll take home a whimsical portrait as a souvenir.
Back to EPCOT, I hope you can join the virtual queue for
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This spinning, whirling ride through the cosmos is my husband's favorite attraction. It's like a disco and roller coaster rolled into one! You can
join the virtual queue on your mobile app at 7:00 AM or 1:00 PM, and my tip is to watch the second hand on your clock so you can tap "Join Virtual Queue" on the dot.
Stuart, it's been a pleasure helping you plan your visit, and I hope you have a practically perfect time! Please
stop by planDisney with any additional questions; I'd love to help.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
