Hello Leanne!
Welcome back to planDisney! As a
Walt Disney World Annual Passholder, I just went through this same situation and just renewed my Annual Pass last weekend.
As you have discovered, you cannot make a
Park Pass Reservation if your Annual Pass will not be valid on those dates, even if you have a
Disney Resort Collection reservation. You will have to wait until you can renew your Walt Disney World Annual Pass. Before the Covid-19 Pandemic, this wasn’t an issue because Disney Park Pass Reservations were not a thing, but for the time being, this is how the system is set up.
Do know that you can renew your Walt Disney World Annual Pass 60 days before or up to 30 days after the expiration date. If your Annual Pass is up for renewal in mid-June, you can renew it in mid-April, which is just around the corner. Currently, Park Pass Reservations for August are still fully available, and while the Spring Break Season has been busy, I think it is unlikely you’ll run into difficulty reserving the parks you want for your August visit if you book them toward the end of April after you renew your Annual Pass. This is reminding me I need to make my Park Pass Reservations for July still!
Do know that Annual Passholders can only reserve Park Pass Reservations for a maximum of 3 park days unless they have an active reservation at a Disney Resort Collection Hotel. If you will be staying at a Disney Resort Collection Hotel, you’ll be able to book Park Pass Reservations for your length of stay. While there have not been any Special Offers announced for August, I would keep an eye on the
Special Offers Page as your trip approaches, in case a Passholder Discount becomes available for your dates! Everyone likes a discount, right?
I hope this helps to answer your question, Leanne, and sending you pixie dust for the perfect Park Pass Reservations for your August visit!
