Hey there, Jeimi! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with this question.
Curiouser and curiouser, we may have to jump through a few rabbit holes, so bear with me and let's go on an adventure.
Your daughter must be so excited to go to the Most Magical Place on Earth with her school. It's a milestone moment to be old enough to go on a field trip to Disney and experience the magic with so many friends.
I'm not sure what type of theme park admission she has. With her trip three days away, I would open the
My Disney Experience app and see if she has tickets from the school linked to her
MyDisney account. If she does, and these are date-based tickets, you should be able to buy
Lightning Lane passes for her.
If she does not have a ticket, you may need to make theme park reservations for her Annual Pass so that she shows up as an "Eligible Guest" for you to purchase Lightning Lane passes. I believe
theme park reservations would be required on January 11 and 12 to have the option to buy passes for those days. Right now, January 13 is a "good to go day," so park reservations are not needed.
I checked with a Cast Member to verify that if she uses a theme park ticket that is not associated with her MyDisney account to enter the park, she could still use her
MagicBand+ or
Disney MagicMobile pass, if she has one, to access the Lightning Lane entries you bought. I was told she could.
It still makes me a bit nervous (I am a bit of a control freak who likes tried-and-proven strategies). Could she use her Annual Pass to enter the park? I have several cheer mom friends who buy the packages that come with theme park tickets, and they still scan in with their Annual Pass. Part habit, part "do what you know works."
I also want to share some advice I received from the team that arranges school groups. They said checking with the school or chaperones before making individual plans is always a good idea. They may have conflicting arrangements or rules about staying in small groups with a chaperone. You want to ensure they know what you are trying to do and align with their plans and safety management strategies.
Jeimi, I hope this information helps. If you have any follow-up questions or information that would help me better assist you, please feel free to
reach back out to me at planDisney. I'm happy to continue the conversation.
Thinking of the Happiest Things!
