I have an annual pass but haven't activated it yet and want to wait to activate it until a later trip and use a 1-day pass in the meantime. Is that possible?

Hello there, Krista, and thanks for stopping by planDisney! And a great big "Welcome to the family" from a fellow Annual Passholder. I've been visiting Walt Disney World Resort for decades but only became a passholder a couple of years ago. I LOVE it! I enjoy the discounts, park hopping privileges, and perks. I've also been known to drive six hours to pick up the latest car magnet, so you could say I'm a passionate passholder!

I'm happy to let you know that according to the Annual Pass Terms & Conditions, you have up to one year to activate your pass from the date of purchase. I often have more than one admission type linked to my account, and my tip is to stop by Guest Relations at any theme park entrance before you scan in. Let them know you'd like to prioritize that single-day ticket; otherwise, the system might activate your annual pass as the default.

You can only take advantage of discounts on food and merchandise once you activate your pass. But the good news is that you can book a Disney Resort Hotel with any available passholder discounts for upcoming trips. Your pass doesn't need to be active to make a discounted reservation, but you must activate it before checking in.

One of your best resources is the Annual Passholders line. Give them a call, and they will treat you like a VIP...a Very Important Passholder! Cast Members will answer all your questions about activation and perks, so please get in touch with them anytime.

Krista, I hope this visit is practically perfect in every way! A single day at Disney beats a week anywhere else, am I right? Please feel free to come back to planDisney with any planning questions. We'd love to help!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
