Hi Anna, Bring 25 yr old daughter and her boyfriend with spina bifida. I am concerned about getting around with the parks transportation system to and from the music resort. Are all the buses wheelchair accesible? Any other advice for wheelchair bound.

Hi, Marlene!  Thank you so much for trusting me to answer your question!

The buses at Walt Disney World are all equipped with a wheelchair lift, so there isn't even a need for a wheelchair bound guest to have to transfer!  It's all done very safely, including making sure the wheelchair is secure in the designated spot on the bus.  You'll find the monorails and boats also have ramps, so if you need to use another form of transportation to go for a meal somewhere or to just do some resort hopping, you'll have no worries.

I've done many, many trips with my dad and my mother-in-law, both of whom have used wheelchairs during our vacations.  I cannot recommend highly enough that you go to guest services at the theme park for a Guest Assistance Card.  This will allow your whole party to stay together while providing alternative entrances or queues to accommodate the wheelchair.  There are also spaces reserved along the parade route especially for guests in wheelchairs and their families.  You'll be able to find them fairly easily, as they are roped off, or just ask a cast member to direct you.

My father traveled extensively in his wheelchair, and I have to say, there wasn't anyplace more accommodating than Walt Disney World.  If you have a question or a concern, just ask a cast member, and assistance will be provided for you to the best of their ability.

Have an absolutely magical visit to Walt Disney World!  You're a great mom to do this for your daughter and her boyfriend!
