Hi Anna! What are the ups and downs to Saratoga springs and OKW? Just me and my mom going but we would be staying in the cheapest rooms wherever we end up if that helps. Been to WDW plenty of times so would be spending some time at the resort itself. Thanx

Hi, Debbie!  Thanks so much for your question!

For my family, we would choose Saratoga Springs over Old Key West, but I have to tell you, one of our Disney Vacation Club contracts is at Saratoga Springs.  It was our first home resort, and we so enjoy our time there.

Old Key West has rooms that are a little bit larger, so that might help you decide, but there are not elevators in every building, which many impact your decision.  Old Key West has a more laid back feel to it, where Saratoga Springs is a bit more upscale feeling to me.

I have always enjoyed Olivia's, so if you are spending a lot of time at the resort and going to be eating there, I think I prefer Olivia's to the Turf Club - although we have never had a bad meal at either location.  I do like Artist's Palette for a quick bite better than the counter service available at Old Key West.

Both are pretty sprawling resorts with plenty of bus stops, but we like the zero entry pool at Saratoga Springs better.  I've taken my mom there, who has artificial knees, and that was easier for her.

I don't think you can go wrong at either resort, but for a newer, more upscale experience, Saratoga would get my vote.

I hope that helps!  Have a wonderful trip!
