HI Anna, Stayed at AKL in August. Loved it! Wanting to go back to Disney next summer and try different hotel. Only prob. with AKL was not being on Monorail. Any suggestions on what hotel I should book next year. Can afford deluxe hotel. Thanks.

Hi, Lisa!  There are a few things I look for when I am booking a Walt Disney World resort.  The first thing I want is a place that truly transports me.  I like to know I'm in Florida, but feel like I'm somewhere else.  I also like to know that I'm close to some of my favorite restaurants.

The Polynesian is one of my favorite Walt Disney World resorts.  I love the lush tropical landscaping at the Polynesian, and I could spend hours wandering the grounds, breathing in the perfume from the gorgeous gardenias that you'll find all over the property.  A visit to Walt Disney World wouldn't be complete without a bite or two of the Tonga Toast served at the Kona Cafe, and my girls really enjoy dining at 'Ohana.  This is truly a paradise right out of the South Pacific.

Completely breaking my own rule of feeling transported to another place, I have to tell you, my husband and I stayed at the brand new Bay Lake Towers this past weekend, and I absolutely LOVED this resort!  We had a lake view room, and got to see and hear the Electric Water Pageant from our balcony each night.  The rooms are sleek, sophisticated, and, well, Contemporary!  The monorail is just a short walk into the Contemporary Resort, and you are connected by an enclosed walkway, so no worries about wind or weather.  It was also nice to take the short walk to the Magic Kingdom.  We can't wait to stay here again!
