Hi Anna! I want to stay in a value resort, but am trying to avoid the large groups such as cheerleaders, ect. Do you know if they are housed more at All Stars or Pop? Also, which of the two has a quiet location? Thanks for your help.

Hi, Jaynee!  Youth groups tend to book the value resorts as a way to make the trips affordable for as many of the kids as they can, so at any given time, you will find cheerleaders, football players, high school seniors, and other groups at the value resorts.  The All Stars seem to be a very popular location, but I have encountered groups at Pop Century as well.

In my experience, we haven't had very much trouble with noise from these groups.  They keep the kids so busy during the day, that they are rarely at the hotel; and they all seem exhausted enough at the end of the day to head right to bed!  I should hire these trip planners to wear my kids out at home!

Out of concern for the youth groups, we have done two things.  We have asked for a room as far back at the back of the resort as we could be, thinking that it would be quiet back there no matter what; and we have paid extra for a room in a preferred building, thinking that most youth groups wouldn't pay the extra.  We have not had a bad experience either way, and if anything, the preferred building might have been a little noisier.

When you book your trip, you can certainly ask if they know of any large groups planning to stay at your preferred resort, and plan according to that information.  Honestly, though, as terrifying as it sounds to be staying at the same resort as throngs of rowdy adolescents, we've never had any trouble.

    Have a great vacation!
