Anna, you said $25 in spending $ per child. We are there 7days/6nights.. Is that for the week or per day?

Hi, Maria!  I think it depends on what you want to come out of the spending money.  If your children will be buying snacks, drinks, and souvenirs out of their spending money, then I'd probably say $20 - $25 per day.  With my girls, the money I give them is for the entire trip.  My husband and I pay for all of their snacks and drinks, so all they really need to buy is souvenirs.  Because I don't want them to bring home a ton of things that won't get used, I give them each about $25 per trip.

I also always buy each of my kids a t-shirt, so the $25 they get they can use on whatever they want.  They also have the option at home to earn money for their trip by snagging extra chores out of a chore jar.  If someone in my house wants to bathe the dogs, they can earn an extra $5 for their vacation.  They sometimes also bring birthday money or money that Grandmom slips them on our way to the airport.

$25 usually buys them a nice souvenir - something they can have and play with for a while.  And I have to admit, if they see something they really want and it's a little bit more expensive, I don't mind chipping in a few extra dollars.  But again, my children only have to buy their souvenirs with their spending money.  If you want your kids to buy treats or snacks, you'll probably want to do $25 per day to cover the snacks, drinks, plus their souvenirs.

I hope that helps some!  Thanks for your question!
