Anna another quick ? we will be there 11/28 - 12/5, 4 adults 1 kid if I make ADRs for a party of 5 and we decide to split up do I need to cancle or can we show up with 1 or 2 less people? DD's 21 and 19 may want to do their own thing! Thanks for your help!

Hi, Patty!  What I have done in the past is call Dining Reservations if I know that my party will be short of what I originally made a reservation for.  I don't cancel that reservation.  Instead, I try to book a reservation with the new number of guests.  If they can't change my reservation to a table that will accommodate a smaller party size, I leave my original reservation in place and turn up at the restaurant.  I know this probably isn't the preferred way to do things, but I have had my own 18 year old decide at the last minute she is returning to the hotel or going off to do something on her own, and there isn't time to change the reservation anyway.

Sometimes, I've had to wait a few extra minutes, as they will change me to a different size table, but that usually works out well for someone who walks up waiting to be seated.  When my own party of five dwindled down to a party of two on a recent trip, the hostess asked if I wouldn't mind waiting for a table for two, then she gave my larger table to a family who had just walked up.  It was only about ten minutes before we were seated.

So, I know I rambled, but I have kids and lose track of what I was talking about frequently!  Keep your reservation unless you know you can change it to a smaller table size.  The restaurants will work with you whenever they can.

    I hope that helps!
