Hi Anna, flight lands at 1pm Aug.6 from T.O. Staying AKL. Suggestions for 1st day (DS 10 and DD6). Stay at hotel (eat at Boma)? Show kids around on monorail? Have 8-day PH so can go to parks if want but not sure if this is best plan. Please help.

Hi, Lisa!  This could go two ways.  If you are having to get up really early with children that young, you might want to take it easy so you can hit the parks running early the next morning.  I would say by the time you are checked in at the hotel, unpacked, and winding down, it might be four or later.  If the day has already been long, you could do dinner at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort, and then ride the monorail around.  You could head to Downtown Disney and try out the new T-Rex Restaurant, then browse some of the shops and soak up some Walt Disney World vibes.  If you stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, dinner at Boma is an excellent plan (it's one of my favorite restaurants!), and then head out to the savannah to watch the animals or listen to the African story tellers.  When you check in, ask for a list of activities, because there is usually something going on to entertain the kids in some way.

The other option would be to check in at the hotel, and head right into the theme parks.  I'd probably pick EPCOT for the first night, because you can plan dinner at one of the many incredible restaurants there, ride a couple of things, stay for Illuminations, and then head back to your hotel.  Or, since it's extra magic hours that night at EPCOT, hang in until midnight!  I know my kids would have slept on the plane, and they'd be raring to go until that late at night.  I, of course, would be dragging, but I can sleep at home!

    Have a wonderful vacation!
