Hi, Anna. Will be coming July 09. 2 families with both Dad's having served in Iraq. ? is about the Flag Retreat Ceremony at MK. Would they both be able to participate at the same time? What exactly do you do when you participate? Thanks all the info!!

Hi, Laura!  First, thank you so much to the two dads and their wonderful families for the sacrifices that were made on behalf of our country.  My brother-in-law has just gotten back from his second tour of Iraq, and I know that the sacrifices made not only by these wonderful men were great, but those of their families tremendous as well.  We are so grateful for their service and dedication.

The Flag Retreat Ceremony takes place daily at the Magic Kingdom, weather permitting.  It's a wonderful ceremony, and during the ceremony, a member of the US Armed Forces participates in lowering the flag at the Magic Kingdom.

To participate, you need to go in person to City Hall at the Magic Kingdom to put your name on the list.  They used to take reservations, but they don't anymore, so I recommend that you get there as early as you possibly can to try and insure your participation.  They do not typically allow more than one person to participate, however when I spoke to them this morning, they told me that they would make an exception in honor of the Military Salute, and if the dads are selected, they can participate together.

Have an absolutely wonderful vacation!  I hope it is sprinkled with pixie dust from start to finish!
