Anna, you answered in another ? that your family had been on the Pirates&Pals cruise. Would this be suitable for a family with sons16&14 or will it be all younger? Love the idea, don't want them to be embarassed, teens! :0) Not sure if I should bo

Hi, Tricia!  I want to start by saying I have three daughters, ranging in age from four to going on 19, and all three of them loved this special event!  If nothing else, the view of the fireworks from the boat is phenomenal, the vantage point you have for the Electric Water Pageant is incredible, and there are so many snacks on the snack buffet that I believe even two teenage boys might be filled for the night after enjoying the variety of items available.

The only thing I think your kids might not get into is the whole pirate thing, but honestly, it's certainly not the biggest part of the event.  When we were there, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee came out to pose for photos and sign autographs, but you are not obligated to meet and greet with them, nor are you with Peter Pan, who is waiting on the dock when your boat comes back in.

I saw couples without children, families with older children around the ages of your sons, and families with young children, and it did not appear to me that there were people not having fun.  I think you could avoid the whole teen embarrassing thing by just avoiding the pirates and enjoying the fireworks.

As an alternative, you could also look into the Wishes cruise, which offers you a Pontoon boat that will hold up to eight guests (you can share with another family or keep it to yourself), and for around $270, it includes your driver, bottled water, canned sodas, and bags of snacks.  This is a wonderful option, but you do miss out on some of the fun of the Pirates and Pals cruise!

I hope you have a wonderful time!
