Hi Hannah!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney! Pandora at night really is something special!
Unfortunately, the park usually closes prior to sunset, so oftentimes, Guests don’t get to see
Pandora in all of its bioluminescent glory.
Here’s my tip, though! Try to make
Flight of Passage or
Na’vi River Journey your very last attraction of the day. Cast Members will often allow Guests to enter an attraction queue right up until the park closes. Depending on how long your wait time is and when the sun sets, you may get to experience Pandora’s glow as you exit the ride.
Animal Kingdom has also offered
Extended Evening Hours for deluxe Disney World resort guests at times, which would likely allow you to see Pandora at night. If you’re staying at a deluxe resort, it’s worth keeping an eye on the
Hours & Events Calendar to see if those will be offered during your vacation.
The Hours & Events Calendar usually shows all of that important information about 2 months in advance.
If you’re looking for another special experience at Animal Kingdom, I highly recommend going on one of the tours there. I recently went on the
Savor the Savanna tour and absolutely loved it! Not only did we get behind-the-scenes tidbits about how they care for the animals, but we also got to enjoy some delicious food and drinks. Experiencing the savanna that way has become a core Disney memory for me!
I hope you two have the best trip! And I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you’ll get a glimpse of Pandora as the sun sets! Let us know if you have any other questions. We’re always happy to help!
