I am going to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom on July 4th weekend. Is it best to wear sneakers or flipflops. If the sneakers get wet then Im miserable, but I'm not sure if the flip flops will hurt my feet all day.

    Hi Christina,

We visited Disney World for the Fourth of July two summers ago. We had a great time but be prepared as it will be hot and crowded. One of the most important Disney travel tips is to wear comfortable shoes. I typically like to spend my days in flip flops or Crocs as I do not like wet shoes either and chances are your trip will see an afternoon rain storm. However if you are not comfortable in flip flops, a long day at Disney World is not the time to break them in.

A great suggestion would be to carry extra socks and sneakers with you to the park. You can leave them in your bag or rent a locker in the front of the park. Another idea would be to start the day in the flip flops and bring the sneakers as a back up. I know many friends you like to change their shoes during the day as a break for their feet. If you are not interested in carrying extra shoes with you, I would choose the shoe you are most comfortable in. If that is the sneaker, there are plenty of locations you can visit to avoid any raindrops.

    Have a great time!
