Hi Larry,
Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a truly immersive environment, where you'll forget you are in Florida and feel like you've stepped into your own African safari!
Earlier this year, room refurbishments began in the Jambo House portion of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. These will continue through Fall 2019, but a specific end date has not been communicated. As these are room refurbishments and not a massive refurbishment that will affect common areas, you likely won't even notice that anything is going on. Usually when you go to book a room on the Walt Disney World website, if the Guest experience will be affected at all, you'll see a posting on the Resort website notifying you prior to booking. This isn't listed for the month of September for Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge so you should be good to go!
While staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, I must recommend that you stop by
Boma- Flavors of Africa to try Zebra Domes, they are simply delicious! Last time I visited they also had them at
The Mara, but as they aren't listed on the menu, they won't be guaranteed there. Please come back if you have any other questions before your upcoming visit.
