We will be at Animal Kingdom June 9th. We would also like to go to DD that day. Which would you recomend going to first? We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside so the magic hours are available to us. Thanks

    Amy,

Without question, go to the Animal Kingdom park first.

The first reason why is that Downtown Disney is pretty dead until the early afternoon. While the stores are open, it can be a bit of a ghost town, so much so that it is pretty depressing.

The second reason is that Animal Kingdom is a pretty animal-reliant park, and the animals are typically more active and viewable in the early morning.

What I would recommend is go to the Animal Kingdom first thing in the morning, and stay through lunch. Enjoy the great BBQ at Flame Tree, or if you want a sit down meal go to Tusker House or Yak and Yeti. Then enjoy one more ride or show, and then head over in the early afternoon to Downtown Disney to enjoy some great shopping, fun at the Lego store, and some shows on the lake!

Feel free to send any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
