Hi Kelli!
Welcome to planDisney, and "Oh what fun!" it will be to visit Walt Disney World Resort during the holiday season! This is my favorite time of the year to visit because each theme park is trimmed and adorned with festive decor, making spirits bright!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is no exception! Right at the entrance, you will see one of the nine "icon" trees found throughout Walt Disney World, adorned with African-themed ornaments and animals! If you look closely, you may find ornaments with a nod to the classic film,
The Lion King! Inside the park, you will see garlands and wreaths throughout, and one of Animal Kingdom's unique displays is Merry Menagerie, which are artisan-made puppets of arctic animals! Merry Menagerie will greet Guests throughout the day at Discovery Island. You can also view the Holiday Edition of The Tree of Life Animal Awakenings, which is an amazing LED projection show on the Tree of Life! Finally, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be adorned in their adventure holiday attire at Adventurers Outpost! Be sure to have your camera and hugs ready!
'Tis the Season! One of my favorite holiday activities at Walt Disney World is viewing the gingerbread displays at select Disney Resort hotels! Stop by Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to view the amazing holiday decor in the lobby, including their beautiful tree, and view the gingerbread displays of the Masai giraffe and zebra! Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa features the iconic life-size gingerbread house, Disney's Contemporary Resort features a castle display, and Disney's Beach Club Resort has a gorgeous gingerbread carousel display. Disney's BoardWalk Inn has a gingerbread BoardWalk Deli display, and Disney's Yacht Club Resort features a gingerbread lighthouse. You can also purchase treats at each stop! Check out last year's
Foodie Guide highlighting all of these magical displays!
Kelli, thank you for stopping by planDisney, and I hope you have a magical holiday vacation to Walt Disney World!
Happy Holidays!
Frances
