David Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I am an amputee and I will need to use an electric wheelchair. I am curious about ADA access with the scooter on the grounds, and even access through the parking lot. Is there an ADA map of the park?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, David! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney.

As a Physical Therapist, I'm passionate about mobility and accessibility around the parks and Resorts ... and anywhere in the world! One thing I love about Walt Disney World is that they make it as easy as possible for all Guests to have the BEST. DAY. EVER, and I'm thrilled to help you have the most magical time at the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Using an electric mobility scooter around Walt Disney World Resort? Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries." You will be able to use your scooter around the parks, Resorts and even on the complimentary Disney transportation. First, I recommend checking out the Services for Guests with Mobility Needs page on the Walt Disney World website. Here, you will find helpful information on important topics, such as parking, transportation, experiencing attractions and more.

If you have a valid disability parking permit, you can park in the Disability Parking Lots, which are a short distance from the park entrances, at all four of the theme parks, and you will be able to unload your scooter and use it through the parking lot to get to and from the park and your vehicle.

On the Services for Guests with Mobility Needs page, you can also find a list of attractions and experiences that allow you to stay in your ECV, require a transfer from your scooter to a wheelchair, and require a transfer to the ride vehicle. This is fantastic for planning ahead, but once you're enjoying your pixie-dusted vacation, I recommend finding this information on the My Disney Experience app. Just log into your app, tap the location icon at the bottom, filter in your current theme park and tap "Attractions" at the top. Then, tap the filters icon, scroll down and filter in certain attractions considerations, such as "May Remain in ECV" or "Must Transfer to Wheelchair, Then to Ride Vehicle," to see a map or list of accessible attractions and their current wait times.

If you're a planner like me and want to view and even print maps of the theme parks before your visit, I've got you covered! You can find the Guide Map for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom on each park's page on the Walt Disney World website by clicking "Map" and then clicking "Guide Map" to pull up your digital park maps. Just check the legend on each map to find accessible restrooms, companion restrooms, parade and fireworks viewing areas for Guests with Disabilities, attraction accessibility information, and more. Let the magic begin!

I hope this was helpful, David, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable time! Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have. You've got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon,

    Mandy
