Hi Kimberly! A theme park view room at the Contemporary is going to be magical! While you'll be able to see the fireworks and the castle from your resort room, there's a lot more to
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party than fireworks. Guests attending the Christmas Party experience a special holiday parade, shows featuring Disney characters, cookies and hot cocoa, and my favorite part: snow on Main Street USA! One perk of attending the party is that often the crowds are much smaller, which gives you the opportunity to experience shorter wait times for attractions.
Whether the Christmas Party is worth the cost is a matter of personal opinion. Some people love it so much that they pay to attend the party on multiple nights during their trip. Others feel it's a lot to pay for free cookies and a parade. Your family would pay roughly $150 to $175 to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Because you're visiting during the last week of the party, it's quite possible that the crowds will be large. I attended the party during this same week last year, and the Magic Kingdom was very crowded. If your family enjoys parades and shows and your children are night owls, you would enjoy the party. If your sons wouldn't be able to cheerfully stay up late or wouldn't have the attention span to watch the long parade and character performances, I would recommend you spend the money elsewhere on this trip and attend the party when they're older.
Hope this helps! Have a wonderful vacation this December! Come visit me again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions!
