Hi Amanda! You are the perfect match to help answer questions for me. I have a son that is 10 and a daughter that is 7!! We are planning on going to Disney (for the3rd time) 10/11 and want to stay in a deluxe resort. What would be your favorites and why?

Hi Amy! How cool that we have matching families! I'd love to help you with your Disney questions!

My personal favorite resort is the Grand Floridian. I love luxury, and you can't get more luxurious than Disney's flagship resort. The rooms are huge, which gives the family space to spread out, and as a mom, I love that they have big laundry hampers to hold our dirty clothes. With messy kids (and a not-so-tidy husband), the twice-daily maid service is heavenly. Staying next to the Magic Kingdom and on the monorail line is so convenient, and lots of great restaurants are close by.

I also love the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The theming here really makes me feel like I'm on an African safari. My kids enjoy sitting on the balcony trying to spot the animals on the savanna, and they like that they can sleep in bunk beds. This resort is often one of the less expensive ones, so we can sometimes afford to stay on the club-level for the same price as a regular room at the Grand Floridian. My kids love the snacks in the club lounge and my husband and I enjoy relaxing there with the complimentary evening wine and appetizers. Club-level guests can take a Sunrise Safari, which is so fantastic we've done it multiple times.

However, the resorts that have become my kids' favorite are the Yacht and Beach Clubs. My children adore the Stormalong Bay pool with its giant waterslide, sandy beach, lazy river, and whirlpool. We often leave the parks to hang out at the pool, and the kids love the activities there, such as line-dancing and making tie-dye Mickey t-shirts. We appreciate being able to walk to Epcot and take a boat to Hollywood Studios, and the resort has the luxurious feel of the Grand Floridian at a lower price tag.
