Hi Mary! I always enjoy "talking food" with you! My family also likes to have have a sit-down meal for lunch to get out of the heat and recharge for the afternoon. An added perk for when you're not on the Disney Dining Plan is that often the prices on the lunch menus are cheaper than the ones at dinner, so you can experience the table-service restaurants at a lesser cost.
In Epcot, we enjoy lunch at Rose & Crown and Le Cellier, where lunch reservations are a little easier to come by than dinner ones. I have a trip planned in the next few weeks, and I've also booked lunch at Les Chefs de France, where I hope to surprise my kids with a visit from Remy, the mouse from Ratatouille who has been making the rounds of the restaurant under a silver dome, and at the Coral Reef, where the kids are mesmerized by the views of the tropical fish swimming in the Living Seas. Another fun spot is Teppan Edo, where the chefs cook Japanese food table-side.
In the Magic Kingdom, I've always found the Crystal Palace buffet to have very fresh and tasty food, and even my hard-to-impress parents commented on how surprisingly good their meal there was. On my upcoming trip, I've scheduled lunch at Tony's Town Square, as paninis and flatbreads are always a hit with my family. If you don't mind leaving the park, the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian is also a nice lunch spot that is only a quick monorail ride away.
Thanks for visiting me again at the Moms Panel, Mary! Hope to talk to you again soon!
