Hi Michelle! How exciting that you'll be in Disney World in just a few weeks! The holidays are such a magical time to visit the parks!
All four of the parks have a special ceremony in the morning before opening to guests. However, in my opinion, the others don't compare to the Magic Kingdom -- it's my favorite! Check out this
answer by my fellow Mom Whitney, in which she describes each park's opening show.
We're not "morning people" either, but I have found that getting an early start at Disney makes all the difference. While I wouldn't recommend arriving at the parks before they open
just to see the opening ceremonies, I would recommend doing so for the short lines you'll experience first thing in the morning. If you enter the parks as soon as they open, you're able to ride so many attractions with little to no waiting. Even though my family loves sleeping in on vacation, we love avoiding lines and crowds at Disney more, so we always set the alarm so we can arrive at the park before rope drop. By late morning when everyone else has arrived, we've already done all our must-do attractions, and many more! For this reason, I'd recommend that your family pretend to be morning people. You can take a nap in the afternoon!
Hope you have a wonderful vacation Michelle! (I might be there in a few weeks too, so if you see a fellow North Carolina gal, wave Hi!) Come see again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions!
