I am always taking so many bags into the park. I call myself the "Bag Lady". Any tips on what to bring into the park, without bringing everything? I finally am diaper free. I still need wipes and change of clothes for the kids.

    Hi Debra,

You are amongst friends here. Us Moms are the designated bag lady in our families too. Be sure to start with a bag that will be comfortable all day long. Here are some of our "must haves":
    •  Wet wipes and hand sanitizer.
    • Band-aids and small travel antiseptic wipes.
    • Sunscreen, sunglasses and hats. The sun is quite strong and hot so you want to make sure to protect your family from sunburn
    • Camera, film, extra batteries, camcorder. You never know when that special magical moment will happen.
    • Autograph book, large pens, penny press books and change for penny machines. Ok so none of the items are really a must have, but the kids love them & they make great souvenirs.
    • Copy of your dining reservation times and confirmation numbers as well as any maps or planning guides you are using.
    • Entertainment- crayons, small notebooks, stickers, a deck of Uno cards or even Memory tiles in a ziploc bag. All of these are great ways to pass the time while waiting for a parade, show or meal.
    • Snacks & water. Hunger causes my kids to do crazy things, & they are always starving the minute we are in line for an attractions. By carrying small snacks like granola bars, chips, fruit or other snack items, we can prevent the hunger pains.
    • Rain ponchos or small umbrellas.
    • I also like to carry the kids bathing suits in a ziploc bag. Often the boys want to play in the fountains in the parks and this way they can change in the bathroom and keep their clothes dry. When they are finished, I throw the wet suits in the ziploc.

I know it seems like quite a bit, but most items are small and can be easily stored in your bag. Good luck and happy park packing!
