Hi Sheila,
Taking your grandchildren for their very first Disney trip sounds like SO MUCH FUN! Seeing the awe and wonder through their eyes will surely make your heart nearly burst with Disney magic, and you'll all create memories together that you'll cherish
forever!
Since park hours vary by day, I'd encourage you to check the
calendar for the exact date you're planning to visit. Depending on when
Magic Kingdom Park opens, the
ferryboat and
Express Monorail will begin running at least thirty minutes prior to the official park opening. In my personal experience, I've seen them begin even earlier than that at times. The
Resort Monorail is another option, too, and it begins running quite early in the morning to allow Guests with 7:00 a.m. breakfast dining reservations to get to where they need to be. While the Resort Monorail makes a couple of extra stops along the way, my family
loves riding it; we always think of it as our first ride of the day! Since you'll go through security at the Transportation and Ticket Center, you'll be all set to scan your
MagicBands or cards once you arrive and begin your magical day. Cast Members usually allow Guests to enter Main Street U.S.A. at some point prior to the official park opening, and I'd encourage you to find a great spot to watch the exciting
Let the Magic Begin welcome show. It's the
perfect way to get in the Disney spirit and kick off your day at Magic Kingdom Park!
Don't forget to stop by a Disney Resort hotel front desk, theme park ticket window, or
Guest Relations location to ask for complimentary "1st Visit" buttons for your Mouseketeers, and enjoy a
grand adventure with them!
Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sheila, and please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your visit. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
