We always use the fitness centers to make up for the delicious food at WDW and our resorts have always had a great fitness center but I just discovered Port Orleans Riverside does not for our upcoming stay, can we use a nearby resort fitness center?

Hiya, Jennifer! Welcome back to planDisney!

Oh boy! I'm so excited to hear that your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is only a few weeks away! I bet you're feeling a bit like Cinderella waiting for the clock to strike midnight. It sounds like you're putting the finishing touches of pixie dust on your magical vacation and I'd love to help you with all the little details.

Jennifer, you are going to love your stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. There's something just so relaxing and romantic about long walks along the Sassagoula River, the lush landscape, and the glowing ambiance at night. And you can't go wrong with stopping by Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter to pick up some Mickey-shaped beignets. In fact, I love this resort so much that I'm visiting here myself next week!

Like you, I really enjoy spending some time exercising to make up for the amazing snacks and treats offered at Walt Disney World Resort. I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but fitness centers and equipment are only accessible to those Guests who are staying at that particular resort. That means that even though Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside doesn't have its own fitness center, you wouldn't be able to access another resort's equipment instead.

But Hakuna Matata! No worries! I have a few options that I think will be just right for you. First, I think you'll love the pool at Ol' Man Island or one of the other leisure pools at your resort. Getting a few extra laps in to make up for the Mickey-shaped beignets will be easy to do (and fun!). This is my favorite way to take a break in the middle of a park day. You may also want to consider some of the bike rentals available to you, which will make the evenings at your resort that much more magical! And with the gorgeous landscape at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, you'll get a great workout in with an even better view. But my favorite way to get some extra exercise in at Walt Disney World Resort is to take advantage of the jogging and running trails! Every mile is magic when you're surrounded by the beautiful and immersive scenery at your resort. You can job along the banks of the Sassagoula River or on a paved, mile-long path. As my friend Moana says, "There's no telling how far I'll go!"

While you're at it, make sure that you've made your Theme Park Reservations with the Disney Park Pass system! This is an important step to secure the parks you wish to visit on each day of your trip. And make sure that you take some time to download and explore the My Disney Experience app prior to your arrival! A little like a magic wand in your hand, you'll be able to check wait times for attractions, view park maps, and even mobile order food. This is a great way to minimize waits and maximize the fun!

I hope I was able to help you today, Jennifer. If anything else pops up, please visit us again! After all, you've got a friend in me.

    See ya real soon!
