A merry welcome to planDisney, Kaitlyn!
The Walt Disney World Resort holiday season is my favorite time of the year, and I love that you and your family want to enjoy all the festivities too! From the fabulous gingerbread displays at various Disney Resort hotels to the decor to be found throughout the property, you and your family will enjoy "walking in a Disney Wonderland!".
Disney Springs has a
Christmas Tree Stroll each year, where Guests go on a scavenger hunt to find the twelve trees throughout. Each tree is adorned differently, and it's fun figuring out what Disney/Pixar film the tree is celebrating! Stop by Disney's Days of Christmas store to pick up all your holiday decor, and if you have little ones in tow, be sure to visit
Santa!
From Disney Springs, I suggest taking the Disney Transportation bus to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. You will be able to experience to beautiful life-size
gingerbread house, and purchase some holiday treats while you are there! Fun fact, did you know it takes 800 pounds of flour (among other ingredients) to make this wonderful display? From the Grand Floridian, hop on the monorail to Disney's Contemporary Resort, where you can see a gingerbread Castle! Head back to Magic Kingdom, and board the bus to Disney's Hollywood Studios from there, hop on the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT. Walk to Disney's Beach Club Resort, and enjoy the gingerbread carousel (each year, it's a different theme!). If you have time, walk to Disney's BoardWalk Inn and view the gingerbread BoardWalk Deli! From one of these resorts, board a bus to Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, then hop on a bus to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to view the adorable gingerbread Masai giraffe!
This merry excursion is a great activity to complete on an off-park day, and may require some dining stops to "sleigh" your day! Some recommendations I have for dining include
Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian,
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Beach Club, or
Boma-Flavors of Africa at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Kaitlyn, I hope all of this information was helpful! Have a holly jolly visit to Walt Disney World in December, and if you need additional pixie dust to plan your visit, send me questions at any time!
Magic Awaits!
Frances
