Hi! I already have a huge document with all sorts of planning. However, I've seen your wonderful answers and I would like to ask for your help. 1: Would you choose Dec8-16 or Jan12-20? I know the 2nd is much less crowded, but the first one has Christmasy!

    Fanny,

That is an easy pick. I would far prefer the December dates, and I am not sure that you would be facing smaller crowds in the January dates. In fact I would guess that you might actually have slightly smaller crowds during those December dates.

Now if you are talking about December 2012, you might find a small bump tied to the opening of the new Fantasyland areas. There might be some increase to Magic Kingdom crowds, drawing in some more locals in particular to see the new attractions and restaurants.

But overall you should find similar crowd sizes at those two times. More importantly, the decor and vibe during the December time frame will be, as you correctly identified, more festive. Also, the weather is typically a bit better during that December time frame.

    BOTTOM LINE: Go for December!

    Have a magical vacation!
