I already have a deposit on two rooms at the coranado reservations for December and will need to change them. When is the latest I can change my reservation and not lose my deposit? Is Riverside open for reservations for next May?

    Hello Martha!

Thanks for stopping by to see me at planDisney! Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is a great choice. I’ve been able to stay at this resort on several occasions and we always enjoy our stay. Whether you are in one of the original buildings or the new Gran Destino Tower, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our kids always enjoy the feature pool and it has a huge hot tub! If you haven’t already, check out the menu for Three Bridges Bar and Grill. This is a newer addition to the resort and is a great choice for a casual waterside meal.

Martha, if you have a room-only reservation, (meaning you just booked a room and did not purchase tickets when you booked the room) as long as you cancel at least 5 days before check-in you can cancel without penalty. If you cancel 5 days or less before your check-in date, you will forfeit the one-night room deposit paid on each room. If you wish to modify your reservation to a different resort or date, you may be able to do that online.

If you booked a vacation package with a room and tickets, you can cancel your reservation up to 30 days in advance without penalty. If you cancel within 29 days to 1 day before check-in you will be charged a cancelation fee. If you are less than 30 days to check-in and wish to make changes to your reservation, you may be charged a change fee. You may want to review the package terms and conditions for more details.

It sounds from your question that you have just made a deposit, Martha. I am not sure if you have booked a room-only reservation or a package. If you plan to change your visit to next May, I would recommend making those changes as soon as possible. Everyone is excited to begin traveling again, and things are booking well in advance. Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside is scheduled to reopen on October 14, 2021, and is taking bookings for next May! If traveling next year would work better for your family, I would change your reservations as soon as you are able.

I hope as your trip approaches you’ll send more questions our way here at planDisney. I’m happy to answer any questions you have. We love talking Disney with our fellow Guests and are here to help!

    Have a Magical Day!
