Hi, we have already booked tickets to visit Disney California and Disneyland on days that Oogie Boogie is happening. If we purchase tickets for Oggie Boogie would it be wiser for us not to use one of our pre-bought tickets on those nights? Thanks Sam.

    Hello there Sam!

Thanks for coming back to planDisney with another great question.  I can't believe it's almost time for Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure Park again, Halloween Time is almost upon us!

Disney California Adventure Park will close early to Guests without Oogie Boogie Bash tickets at 6:00 PM, so you'll definitely want to do some planning if you're going to visit the theme parks on a day where Oogie Boogie Bash is taking place.  If you are able to secure tickets to Oogie Boogie Bash, then yes, I do not recommend using your theme park tickets for this date since you'll be able to access Disney California Adventure Park starting at 3:00 PM, and have the rest of the evening for the event!  I'd save the theme park ticket for another day to visit the theme parks.

I do have a few other recommendations and suggestions for you!  You also could avoid visiting Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park on an Oogie Boogie Bash date all together.  If you have the flexibility in your trip to make an Oogie Boogie Bash date a resort day where you enjoy the pool, the Downtown Disney District, etc. then you definitely could do that so your time would not be cut short.

My other recommendation is to upgrade your theme park tickets to Park Hopper tickets, where you get to enjoy both parks in one day, pending availability.  You could start your day in Disney California Adventure Park, and then cross over into Disneyland Park before Oogie Boogie Bash begins, but still get to enjoy both parks on a day where the event is taking place.

It truly comes down to your personal preference and what works best for your family!  The Australian Disneyland site also recommends working with a local travel agent for the best experience traveling to the Disneyland Resort, so I do recommend connecting with one if you haven't already for assistance.  I'm sure they can help ensure a smooth and magical trip over to the States!

I hope this information is helpful for your upcoming trip, Sam!  I'm wishing you and your family a very spooktacular trip, don't hesitate to follow-up with me directly if I can answer any other questions.

    Have a magical day!
