Melissa,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Of course, you can take a group picture with your camera at Walt Disney World! Why, taking pictures in front of
Cinderella Castle at the
Magic Kingdom is practically a rite of passage for anyone on their first trip to Walt Disney World.
I just returned from hanging out with many of my planDisney pals at a reunion, and we took a few large group pictures during the event. As you can imagine, it was a sea of iPhones, as well as some more professional shots taken by the
Disney PhotoPass photographers.
Two things you will want to consider when planning any group shot are the when, and the where. Everyone wants to get a photo of themselves with the castle in the background, on Main Street, with no other guests in the shot. Well, good luck with that! My advice is to plan your photo after considering what you want in the background, and by checking the respective park calendars to ensure you are not trying to do so during a parade or other major show, like a stage show in front of the castle. These larger entertainment events bring out big crowds, making your photo capture much harder.
Also, don't dismiss the idea of using the PhotoPass program to capture a unique shot. The
Super Zoom Magic Shots might be a unique and memorable way to capture your group. With the ability to get digital copies of your photos, not everyone in your party has to get the
Memory Maker, but everyone can share in the magic!
