Hey howdy hey, Miranda.
Welcome to planDisney! Can you believe you have just one more week to go until your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is here? You’ll be soaring with Dumbo, braving the high seas with a crew of swashbuckling pirates, and traveling to galaxies far, far away before you know it!
As someone who is not a fan of enclosed spaces, I can empathize with your predicament.
Space 220 Restaurant is an out-of-this-world dining experience that you don’t want to miss out on, but that special space elevator can be a bit intimidating. When I dined there in September, I had no issues with the enclosed space, as it felt wide open and spacious. If you’ve been on
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run before, the feel of the space elevator is akin to what it’s like walking through the Millennium Falcon on your way to pilot the ship. It does not feel claustrophobic, in my opinion. Still, I understand not wanting to find out the hard way that it is indeed too much. I recommend you arrive early for your reservation and speak to the Cast Member at the check-in stand about your situation. Buildings with multiple floors should have a set of stairs for safety reasons, so there’s a good chance they can accommodate your request and offer you an alternate route, though it’s not a guarantee.
Miranda, it might also be wise to avoid
Mission: SPACE in EPCOT due to your particular needs. That is quite the confined space, and it was a bit too much for me when I went on it a few years ago. I wouldn’t want you to try that attraction and have it affect the rest of your day in a less-than-magical way. Have a wonderful vacation, and say hi to Mickey for me!
See ya real soon,
Alyssa
