Hi - AKL Pool Questions: Do they have life vests for children at the pool? Can you bring your own arm floaties or small floatie ring? Do they have towels by the pool or do you need to bring your own? Thanks! Looking forward to swimming soon!

Hi, Jill! The answer to this question is more complex than it would seem to be on the surface.  Yes, floaties, noodles, swim rings, and other small pool toys are allowed.  They even sell some of them in the gift shops.  However, floats which potentially block a lifeguard's view (lounge floats or ride-on rafts) are not permitted. To further complicate matters, no pool toys (including floaties) are allowed on the slides.  Your child would need to switch to a vest to slide. You will find complimentary life jackets available at all of Walt Disney World Resorts. If you aren't sure where to go to reserve your life vest at the pool area, just ask one of the lifeguards or any other Cast Member, and you'll be pointed in the right direction. Towels will be available at the Animal Kingdom Lodge pool, so you won't need to bring your own. Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
