From AKL to MK - is it better to pay for a Lyft or Minnie van (15-20min) than use the resort bus (Free: 60-90 min)? Does Lyft drop off at TTC? Does the resort busses and/or Minnie van skip TTC and drop off at the main gate? How much time does the save you?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, India! This is an excellent question, so I am glad you stopped by today. My family tries to rely on complimentary Disney transportation as much as possible during our visits to Walt Disney World Resort. However, we have used other services when hopping from resort to resort or when we need to get somewhere quickly. Minnie Van Service is the easiest and most adorable way to get to your Resort destination! To request service, just open your Lyft app and input your destination. Scroll across the listed transportation types to the More section for Minnie Van Service. The latest My Disney Experience mobile app update also features a handy link within it to take you directly to the request for a Minnie Van.

At this time, both Minnie Van Service and Disney bus transportation drop of guests at the bus loops found just outside the entrance to Magic Kingdom Park. Rideshare services, such as Lyft and Uber, must drop off guests heading to Magic Kingdom Park at the Transportation and Ticket Center. There, the guest will go through the security checkpoint and then take either the ferry boat or monorail over to Magic Kingdom Park. This drop off location is the main reason I highly recommend using either complimentary Disney transportation or Minnie Van Service!

Travel time between the resort and any of the parks will not change based on the type of transportation you choose. However, it is recommended that you give yourself an hour to an hour and a half to reach your destination via bus because one may have just left and you would have to wait on the next bus, which could be up to 20 minutes away. There are handy digital screens at the resort bus stop which will show the up-to-date timing of the next bus to your destination. My advice to you is to first check this screen and decide if calling for a Minnie Van would be more efficient.

I hope this helps you plan a pixie-dust arrival for your magic day! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
