In between AKL and Boardwalk Inn. Staying 7 nights. How long are walks to parks from BW? Would you split nights between the 2 hotels? Is one better and why? Thank you.

chEARs Lisa, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Choosing a favorite Resort is like choosing your favorite kid! But, as Walt says, “it’s kind of fun to do the impossible,” so I’ll try to tackle the battle of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn vs. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is all about location, location, location! It is less than a 10-minute walk to Epcot’s International Gateway and the brand-new Disney Skyliner. Fifteen minutes in the other direction, and you can set off on a galactic adventure on the Planet of Batuu. I also love the BoardWalk and it’s fantastic restaurants and super fun activities. If you stay, you have to try the Surrey Bikes!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is all about the animals! The Resort is incredibly unique, where else can you wake up to a giraffe having breakfast outside your window? I’m a bit biased as Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village is our “home” Resort, but I can’t think of a better place to relax and enjoy the “wild” side of Walt Disney World. On top of the fantastic atmosphere and magnificent animals, my family’s favorite restaurant is here - Sanaa. Regardless of where you stay, make sure to book a dining reservation.

Come to think of it, I think a split-stay is a fantastic idea! That way, you can experience the unique aspects of both properties. As I said, it’s like picking a favorite kid - can’t do it!

Lisa, I wish you a roaring good stay!
