Hi Christine!
Welcome to planDisney!
When using
Lightning Lane Multi Pass with a valid
park hopper, you can decide if you want to purchase the service and book your Lightning Lane pre-selections for your first park of the day or a park later in the day.
So, in your case, since
Slinky Dog Dash is a big priority and since it’s such a popular Lightning Lane that may not have much availability on your park day, I’d recommend purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass and booking your pre-selections for
Hollywood Studios but still starting your day at Animal Kingdom.
I’ve actually done that exact thing before! I’ve found that if we get to Animal Kingdom for
Early Entry, we can experience quite a few attractions by taking advantage of low standby wait times. Then I have my Lightning Lanes ready to go at the second park of our day. You could also consider purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass for
Flight of Passage that morning (pending availability). Then you’d have one Lightning Lane at Animal Kingdom, too.
If you go that route, I’d plan to schedule your first Lightning Lane of the day using Lightning Lane Multi Pass as close to the time you plan to get to Hollywood Studios. That way, you open up the ability to book another Lightning Lane as early as possible. Depending on your Sci Fi lunch reservation time, you could even sneak in a Lightning Lane before your meal.
If you decide purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass for
Animal Kingdom works better for your family, you’ll be able to book a Lightning Lane at Hollywood Studios as soon as you scan into your first Lightning Lane of the day. So you can always keep a lookout for a Slinky Lightning Lane to become available. I’ve noticed some availability here and there throughout the day, so there’s a chance you could still snag one.
I hope you have the best trip! If you have any other questions leading up to your trip, feel free to ask! We’re always happy to help!
