Hello and welcome back to planDisney, Karen!
As the mother of four, anything that makes traveling with a large family easier is popular with me. I loved the Resort Airline Check-in service available at Walt Disney World Resorts and we used it for every trip. Unfortunately, as you can probably tell by my use of the past tense,
this service is no longer available.
Resort Airline Check-in did not return when the
Walt Disney World Resort reopened last summer. Disney has stated that it is “no longer available” which means I would anticipate that this program has permanently ended and will not be coming back. Usually, you’ll see the words “temporarily paused” or “suspended” for things that may make a return.
I’m sorry I don’ have better news, Karen. Depending on your airline, many now offer kiosks at the airport where you can self-tag your luggage and I’ve noticed that even when the lines seem lengthy at the airport, they do tend to move very quickly. Since you’ll be staying at
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and will have either a washer and dryer in your room or access to a laundry room, another option is to pack light with the plan to do laundry and skip checking your bags altogether.
If you have any additional questions before your trip, please send them my way. I’m always excited to talk about Disney!
