Ahoy there, Jennifer! Thanks for sailing back by planDisney with your question. I love that you’re planning ahead.
Castaway Cay days are always the highlight of any itinerary for my crew!
Scuttle’s Cove is the beachside version of the Oceaneer Club, Disney’s supervised kids’ club right on the island for children ages 3 to 10. It’s located just steps from the first tram stop, near the family beach. While Disney doesn’t release an hour-by-hour schedule in advance, the activities are creative and most importantly, tons of fun!
On prior trips (and with a little help from my knowledgeable friend
Dustin!), I've noticed activities like Capture the Flag and Sand Soccer, plus sandcastle contests, water games, seashell crafts, and more. Every day is a little different, so once you’re onboard, be sure to check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the day’s lineup and Scuttle’s Cove hours, which are typically around 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Lunch is usually served right inside the club, so kids can keep playing without missing out on anything. And it's the perfect time for parents to sneak away to Serenity Bay, the adults only beach. While all guests can enjoy barbecue lunches at Cookie's, Serenity Bay's BBQ is the only spot that serves steak...just one more reason it's a hidden gem!
There’s also usually a Youth Activities Open House on the island in the morning, where you can meet the counselors, explore the space, and hear more about what’s planned. I always find that super helpful and reassuring, too!
Here's a planDisney tip: Keep an eye out for Mickey, Minnie, and pals in their beachwear. They sometimes pop by Scuttle’s Cove, and it makes for the cutest photo ops!
Hope this helps, Jennifer! Wishing you smooth sailing and an unforgettable day at Castaway Cay!
