Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Julie!
Shiver me timbers! It sounds like ye may be sailing into a storm with your landlubber! I can understand how he may be a little nervous about getting his sea legs. Rest assured with all of the
magic included when sailing with Captain Mickey, we can turn his salty outlook into a swashbuckling swagger in no time!
I would recommend ye walk the plank onto the
Disney Wonder and pick a
shorter itinerary departing from San Diego to join the
Castaway Club. As these cruises depart from your home state and offer a quick taste of what a Disney Cruise Line vacation can offer, it is a great way to ease your husband into this type of getaway.
The Disney Wonder is a smaller ship which has an intimate feel and a smaller crew of pirates joining you for a high seas adventure. A four or five night Baja cruise would give you enough time onboard to check out the great Broadway caliber shows in the
Walt Disney Theater, world class
dining and
cozy lounges in the adult exclusive district, After Hours.
What worked well to convince my landlubber husband was sharing a little "arr" and "arr" time in the onboard spaces reserved for the 18+ crowd like
Senses Spa and Salon and the
Quiet Cove Pool. He also enjoys a good Italian meal, so after the antipasto at
Palo, he was hooked! In my experience, these spaces have always been a quiet oasis onboard to escape to during our sailings.
Good luck hooking your husband into the pirate life! Cruise back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel for help navigating the planning process and charting a course to a high seas adventure.
"Sea" ya real soon! Angie
