Are the ages on the on the port adventures a recommendation or requirement? There is an adventure my 9 year old daughter wants to experience but the age is listed as 10 year old. She will be 10 years old 3 weeks after we return from our cruise.

Welcome aboard, Lawrinda! Your family must be so excited about your upcoming sailing with Disney Cruise Line! Isn't it fun to browse all of the amazing Port Adventure options and find the ones that are perfect for your family?

Disney Cruise Line's Port Adventures do have age restrictions, and those are requirements. So, unfortunately, the system won't even allow you to book your daughter on that adventure if she is not of the required age. You didn't mention which adventure or which port of call you were looking at, but many adventures offer a few different options, and some have different age ranges. Hopefully there is something very similar that does allow nine year-olds, and you can choose that one instead! My kids are eight and ten, and believe me, we've experienced some really awesome adventures for those ages, so I know there are plenty out there!

My family and I always book at least one Port Adventure with Disney when we sail because Disney picks the best adventures and really has families in mind! I'm sure that you'll find another adventure that your whole family can enjoy together on this sailing.

    Have fun planning, Lawrinda!
