Hi, Angela! I live in a household full of golfers- my husband loves to say, "Happiness is a long walk with a putter." Naturally, my kids enjoy playing miniature golf while on vacation, and when at Walt Disney World, it's a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks.
Winter Summerland was the first Disney Miniature Golf Course my kids experienced. It's located by the entrance to
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park and is themed to look like Santa's off-season retreat. There are two 18-hole courses. The Summer Course has surfboards and sand castles- Olaf would love it! On the other hand, the Winter Course has the snow-clad Florida look resembling Blizzard Beach complete with melting ice castles- Elsa would feel at home here! You can park your car in the Blizzard Beach complimentary lot.
The courses at
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf have a more mature feel, but they are whimsical as the theming is based on Disney's 1940 classic animated film, Fantasia. The two courses here (Fantasia Gardens and Fantasia Fairways) are quite different in difficulty level. My boys liked Fantasia Gardens, the easier of the two, when they were little, and this course is beautifully landscaped with animated statues and flower beds. The other course, Fantasia Fairways, is for more serious golfers and contains water hazards, bunkers, and sloping greens - now that their handicaps are almost as low as dad's, this may be the course they try next! These courses are located by the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and there is a complimentary parking lot at the golf course.
I hope your trip is a hole in one this summer, Angela!
