Hi Again! If i reserve an early boarding time, am I able to leave the ship once I'm checked in and receive the key to the world card?

Welcome aboard, Vickie! It sounds like you have a magical Disney Cruise Line vacation coming up soon! I bet your family is very excited to set sail with Captain Mickey!

You mentioned an early boarding time. You must be talking about the Port Arrival Time you selected when you completed your Online Check-In. This arrival time is not a boarding time, but simply an approximate time to arrive at the port. Once you arrive, you'll go through security and head upstairs to check in at the desks in the port terminal. There you'll receive your Key To The World Card and a boarding number. Around noon the boarding begins (sometimes earlier if the ship is ready). It may be awhile until your boarding number is called, so bringing snacks and activities for the little ones to keep them busy is a good idea. Once your boarding number is called, you'll be able to make your way onto the ship, stopping for a family photo along the way. My family's favorite part of boarding is as we approach the entrance to the ship, the Cast Members announce our family name and applaud our arrival as we walk into the atrium lobby for the first time!

I checked with my friends at Disney Cruise Line to find out for sure if you're able to then leave the ship, as normally, that first day, everyone is so excited to go explore their home away from home, that no one is leaving. I found out that you can leave the ship by checking back out just off the atrium, but you will need to be back no later than 3:45. You'll also have to go through security in the port terminal again and make your way through the line onto the ship.

Now, in the other ports of call that you'll visit, you can much more easily come and go from the ship throughout the day as you explore the port and return to the ship with your Key To The World Card and photo I.D.

I hope those details help as you get ready to set sail, Vickie! Have a wonderful cruise!
