    Hello again! How does the Wonder compare to the Fantasy? Is the older, smaller ship just as nice? It doesn't get as many great reviews as the newer ships but I don't want to base my decision on that. Thanks, I couldn't do this without all your help.

    Welcome back Linda! My family's first cruise with Disney Cruise Line was on the Dream, when it was brand new. Then, we booked a trip on the Disney Wonder, and were a bit concerned that we wouldn't be as impressed with that ship since it is older.

    Boy, were we wrong! We love the smaller Disney ships for many reasons, the first being that they are much more intimate due to their smaller size, so we really get to know the Cast Members, they get to know us, and our experience onboard is so much more meaningful. Sure, the technology is not quite as advanced as on the Dream or Fantasy, but Disney certainly does an amazing job updating the Magic and the Wonder each year. 

    When we book our Disney cruises, we don't do so based on ship. We choose based on itinerary or date or price. After sailing on all four of Disney's ships, we know that no matter which we choose, we will have a very magical cruise, though for different reasons, as each ship is entirely unique, so each trip will be entirely unique as well. 

    Decide where you want to go and when and stick within your budget to find the exact itinerary for your family, Linda! Remember, too, that booking onboard one of the ships for your next cruise can save you about 10%, plus you will only put down a 10% deposit (not the normal 20%), and you'll earn onboard credit for the future cruise as well! A great deal!
